Augustino Rettino
Award for Educational Advocacy

This award recognizes passionate individuals who—through their leadership and advocacy efforts, ensure educational excellence for the benefit of all students, teachers, and Harborfields community.

Mr. Rettino has been a 5th grade teacher in the Harborfields School district for 21 years. He has been UTH president of Thomas J. Lahey School for 14 years and has been instrumental in helping to foster a positive relationship between the administration and teachers. Augie has been awarded a Model School Award Grant for his classroom, the Long Island Council for Social Studies Margaret Simon Award for Excellence in Elementary Social Studies Education, and the SEPTA distinguished Teacher Award in 2003. Augie feels fortunate to say that he loves teaching and working in the Harborfield’s School District.
